Funding Missions to Ethiopia

There are several different ways to fund a mission trip, long and short term! One organization which is widely known for funding missions to Ethiopia is the MFE, "mission funding Ethiopia".
The MFE supports...
  • missionaries and their families
  • workers in ethnic communities across Ethiopia
  • new rural church communities in Ethiopia
  • creative-access workers in places where traditional missionaries cannot go
  • training for church leaders, missionaries and Christian companies for profit and Not-for-profit organizations
  • discipleship ministries and evangelism training to empower lay leaders
  • medical ministries, including care for people with HIV/AIDS and other diseases

Proposal For Relating Math To Missions

   Brief course description:
This course is meant to be an independent math course that is very unique to my personality, my interests and what I am currently involved in extracurricularly. I am going to be writing a blog and informing my readers on what it takes to fund a non profit organization administratively as well as on the mission field.

Learning goals/purpose of course:
Since I'm currently interning with a nonprofit organization known as Deaf Child Hope International, I'm extremely passionate about our mission and making sure everything is in place so that we can continue to carry out that mission  bringing hope to deaf children in poverty. So heres where the math comes in, when people think of mission trips and sponsorships and orphanages, they often times don't think about all the funding it takes to ensure those things are made possible. Not only do you need a crew to be willing and prepared to go out and actually be immersed into the culture and do the hands-on work on the mission field itself, but you need a team that can do the administrative work back at home so that these trips can be made possible so that the items brought on the trips can be available, etc. A lot of math and a lot of statistics goes into this, which is why I am creating a proposal to write blogs and inform my readers about what it takes to truly fund a nonprofit organization from campaigning  promoting, to building schools, orphanages, hiring teachers across the country, and so much more.
Not only will I be infoming my readers on the funds needed and coming up with the actual math configurations, I'll be using real examples and current situations we are currently facing with Deaf Child Hope International. Another thing, to keep things fun and interesting I plan on also talking about the different curenices in different countries and how that affects an organization, if at all, and I will share the average money an individual or even a family lives off of in a day, this varies between all our partnering countries.
Currently we have partners exsisting in: Uganda, Haiti, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Mexico, and the USA. And because we are always facing different situations and meeting different needs at different times between all these partners, I will be writing about mostly what we are currently facing and working through as a team.
Outline:
  • Funding for materials, schools, orphanages, teachers, interpreters, etc.(keep partners, and meet their needs)
  • Funding it takes to campagin and promote DCH in the states
  • Different currencies between all our exsisting partners
  • Average money a person lives off of in a day between all partners, (differences) why? Does this affect life expectancy?
  • Math configurations and statics will be tied into all this information

Course structure and learning resources to be used:
Rubric will be given to me by Mr. Kern for course structure and resources will all be related to my internship with Deaf Child Hope International, my team members, field directors, partners, child sponsors, and current events. Any research done or statistics given will be cited.

Expected outcome:
Weekly blog, informing my readers on what it takes to fund a non-profit organization administratively as well as on the mission field. I expect to grow in depth and understanding in my internship with Deaf Child Hope International while implementing the math skills it takes to do this.
